The proliferation of the internet and wireless access has made instant communications more desirable and necessary for businesses and consumers alike. In the realm of healthcare, ever-increasing technology has made effective home health a greater reality than ever before. Through previous work done through The Home Depot Smart Home, we have focused on remote patient monitoring, specifically focusing on wireless ECG. Currently, the project consists of an existing prototype of a 3-lead biopotential amplifier that transmits data wirelessly using the Bluetooth transmission protocol. Functionality is limited to transmission only, with no detection/prediction methodologies for predicting various heart conditions such as arrhythmia.
