media room project
The Media Room team aims to create an innovative and elegant way for residents within the Smart Home to enjoy the various forms of entertainment available today. With so many separate components contained within a traditional media room – movies, gaming, music, et cetera – it can become easy for the user to lose control; our team seeks to combine all these separate components into one system easily controlled by the user. By linking the three donated Phillips LCD televisions in the room to one encompassing media server and receiver connected to a surround sound system as well as individual headphones, residents in the Smart Home are able to use all three televisions concurrently with separate sound channels. A single universal remote controller for the media room also gives the user simple and complete control over the entire system. In the future, our team hopes to work with Exceptional Innovations to further introduce automation and distribution of content into both the media room and to the whole home as well.
