We invite you to tour our live-in laboratory and learn about solutions for energy efficiency, sustainability and "smarter" living. See features like the rainwater and solar catchment systems, a 3-D printer and community garden, and also hear about how the home is a testing ground for student research and product innovation.

Join a Public Tour

Public tours of the smart home are free and open to persons interested in learning more about the Duke Smart Home Program. These tours are usually scheduled on selected weekends during the academic year. To join, just come to the front door a few minutes before the tour time – no reservations are required. Tours take about one hour.

Request a Private Tour

Click on the button below to request a private tour. People or groups who cannot attend a public tour may request a private tour of the smarthome. Private tours are generally done on weekday afternoons, but you can request a tour at other times. Please submit three possible days/times for your tour. Private tours take about one hour.
